Academy of Lore

Board Threads Posts Last Post
No New Posts entrance hall

The entrance hall opens onto a vast courtyard, paved in brick with well-placed trees and shrubs decorating the nearly barren stone. The courtyard, however, is supposed to be a drop-off station for students; there are no benches. Inside the Entrance Hall itself, things are elegantly dressed in rich mahogany and deep ebony, giving the entire school a dark, foreboding feeling--as if there were monsters in the corners, waiting to swallow you whole.

No New Posts first floor

The main floor of the Academy of Lore is home to the larger rooms and two departments. Usually colorful and draped with posters along the walls as well as a bulletin board that is usually the first thing one sees when walking from the Entrance Hall, it doesn’t hold the teacher’s offices, but to the right is a basic office to deal with people coming in and out, absences and such.

No New Posts second floor

There are three sets of stairs that lead up to the second floor. One is near the entrance, another between the cafeteria and gym and the last near the two departments. The second floor seems bigger compared to the first due to the larger number of rooms. It’s practically a maze and anyone who isn’t used to the map could easily get lost. There are three departments on this level, including the arts and an extra music room.

No New Posts third floor

With the final floor of the Academy, there are only two locations that make it up. First, there are club rooms which are available to use to students after school and then, there are teacher dorms. Since there are not enough teachers that wish to live at the school, they decided not to make another building, but simply change empty classrooms into miniature apartments.

No New Posts student dorms

The Student Dorms are a completely separate building from the main Academy, and not quite so fancy. They consist of hundreds of dorm rooms, nearly fifty on each floor, with two students to a room--and, in rare and extreme cases, three. The dorm itself is set up much like the Entrance Hall of the school, with one or two exceptions; the first is the staircase around the outside leading to the second level dorms, and the second is the hallways branching off the entrance way, leading you to the dorm sections.

No New Posts flar street

If you want to find a party, drenched in chaos and whimsical havoc, Flar Street is the place to go. Party-goers fill the streets, spilling out from the ever-booming Untz Untz and into Ike's Pub, or turning around a corner into Bump in The Night and disappearing forever. This is the night life of Tasan; only this party goes on twenty-four seven, and there's no end in sight.

No New Posts city central

City Central isn’t exactly the true center of the city, but it’s close enough. It borders Rotterdam Avenue by the northeast. While it isn’t perfect, it does get its name for being the most popular place outside of Flar Street (we don’t count that place). City Central is home to tall fancy restaurants with hotels, a bank, spa and even hospital. Who would’ve thought?

No New Posts rotterdam avenue

Rotterdam Avenue is in the true center of Tasan. Named after the Dutch city, the street doesn’t exactly take after it, but does have a lot of the attractions people hang out here for. The streets are usually packed during the weekends. So much so that the first weekend of every month, they either have sales or some kind of entertainment in the street. Along the avenue are planted trees that are dangled in lights that glow in the night. It’s quite the sight.

No New Posts ogden boulevard

North along the outskirts above Rotterdam Avenue is Ogden Boulevard. While it isn’t as crowded year round, they do have a few interesting places and jobs to offer to the people of Tasan. First, there is a park with a separate area just for dogs and then the infamous Bob’s Burgers and car dealership of Iroxanical. But let’s not forget, when the season is right, the Festival Grounds makes the boulevard packed with action.

No New Posts drogdgenfrarm drive

Droddgenfrarm is a long, winding road, on the outskirts of town, with views of a barren landscape on all sides. Far away, seemingly on the horizon, you can see Tasan; but the longer you drive, the farther away it seems to get, and even though you're in the city limits, it seems impossible to get back to it. Drogdgenfrarm has been known to drive people insane if they walk or drive along it for long; but if you're strong, and if you prevail, you might just come across Old Shiner's house...where death himself awaits.
